Monday, 7 November, 2011 - 15:08

BVI Companies are often used in complex group structures often encountered in the Far East. They are often intermediate holding companies whose assets frequently comprise shares in other companies, which trade or hold valuable real assets. Sometimes, the BVI company owns other assets or may have claims and in those cases, it is often necessary for the liquidator of the BVI Company (“Liquidator”) to seek the assistance of the Courts in the Far East to enable him to secure assets he has identified, obtain information and consider whether further investigations should be undertaken.
